The Universities of Wisconsin are 13 four-year schools that have engaged in a number of cleanup and consolidation projects over the eleven years we have been on Alma. After a brief history of how UW has changed (and its impact on Alma), we will go over our tools and provide tips, as well as our philosophy of embracing minimalism and keeping it simple when it comes to configuration. Our consortia consolidation projects came about by necessity but also helped simplify staff workflows. We will share the benefits of tidying up Alma (including Resource Sharing and Rapido) which include increased security, cost savings, and a simplified staff workflow.
