Accessibility Collaboration at a Consortial Level

Back to Schedule Check-inYou can join session 5 minutes before start time.

Session Information

Accessibility efforts have both technology components (e.g., conforming to technical standards, learning new remediation skills, evaluations and audits) and people components (e.g., networking with departments and organizations, advocating for support and improvements, lifting the voices of users experiencing barriers). Within a library consortium, this is a collaborative process that emphasizes people while sharing information about technical needs. This session will start by outlining and demonstrating examples of accessibility collaboration from the Orbis Cascade Alliance, including documentation and resource curation, communication, training coordination, advocacy, and community support. The session will close by inviting participants to be part of collaborative accessibility work by sharing their accessibility efforts and/or asking questions or seeking contacts for further inquiry.
