For over a decade, the College of Charleston Libraries leveraged multiple self-hosted systems to facilitate the submission and presentation of student scholarship on campus. With the adoption of Alma in 2020, the Library realized that leveraging Alma Digital and Primo for these needs could reduce technical debt, increase user access to student materials, and, most importantly, make the submission process easier for students. What followed was an exploratory period during which the Library reviewed Alma's feature set, assessed how our legacy data formats would need to transform for Alma, and configured Alma to create a streamlined workflow for staff and students. This presentation provides guidance on migrating legacy content into Alma Digital and making it available in Primo, drawing on the College's experience with its own legacy material, its setbacks, and lessons learned.
