In late 2022, a flood occurred in the subbasement area of Strozier Library at Florida State University, home to thousands of uncataloged special collections materials. In the flood's aftermath, all subbasement materials were relocated to a vendor-operated storage facility out of state, which meant that all uncataloged volumes needed to be described as quickly as possible. What do you do when your main cataloging priorities become speed and volume? In this presentation, we will discuss the history and evolution of this cataloging workflow; tools and methods used to generate brief Alma records in batch; challenges and limitations of the process; and future applications.
