Managing Usage Data in Data Visualization [AA interested, if time opens]

Managing electronic usage data can feel like untying the Gordian Knot by hand- we have COUNTER data, non standard data, poor match points in the forms of normalized titles and identifiers, and relevant data fields strewn across Analytics Subject Areas. Third party tools can help with the usage numbers themselves, but aren’t integrated with our bibliographic or vendor records in Alma. Two staff members at George Mason University delved into a project to streamline gathering and managing usage data. See an overview of their data model and the dashboard that allows them to check what forms of usage a vendor provides and how it’s accessed, and then view the usage itself.
