From Confusion to Confidence: A Training Framework for Library System Change

Session Information

As our library prepared to migrate to a new Library Services Platform (LSP), a task force was created and charged with training over 500 staff members for Go Live. Task force leadership faced challenges including unclear staff expectations, cross functional training needs, and a demand for asynchronous learning options. To meet these needs, the team built a centralized training hub to consolidate resources, clarify expectations, and streamline communication. This presentation outlines the implementation timeline, organizational strategies, and lessons learned, offering a replicable model for libraries undergoing major systems transitions. Attendees will gain insights into building a responsive training ecosystem that empowers staff and reduces friction during organizational change while sustaining operational continuity.
